Gretchen Lutterman

Gretchen is my new best friend. She used to be Gretch the Wretch a name given to her by the cold hearted kids of Central High school. But now she is Gretchen, the starting varsity pointgaurd, Cal Gant's best friend. Her story is a tragic one. Full of neglect, abuse, and death.

I remember the first time I saw her. She was wearing the most ugly shoes I had ever seen and her raggedy clothes didn't even match! One day I asked her why she dressed the way she did and she said her father makes her so she couldn't attract any boys. Her father made her believe that all boys were evil except for him. Gretchen hardly ever said a word and when she did it was some psycho babble I couldn't understand. She wouldn't show up for school some days and that worried me. Exspecially after she showed me the big blue bruise on her leg. I didn't know what was to come for gretchen but I knew I had to do something.

My plan was to bust her father and set her free. Before iI could I had to make sure she was going to make it. I had to keep her hopes high and let her know that god didn't forget about her. First thing I did was buy her some new shoes. Also I visited her every saturday at the bakery she worked at. One day we decided to skip school and take a trip to Minneapolis. It was all new to her and I could tell she loved it. Gretchen was very confused. She didn't know if she could tell the cops the truth because she was afraid of what her father would do to her if they didn't take him away. She was so strong and I am so proud.
